ibm t23 doesn~t start

 i`m unable to start my ibm thinkpad ,the harddisk makes clicking sounds,I got" the operating system not found" message,the BIOS utility recognises the harddisk please help me

Without a doubt it is the hard drive. You may be able to remove and reattach the hard drive cable (in the slim chance it has come partially loosened) and find joy, but a replacement drive is the most likely solution.  ;)
