CDR problems

My CDR and DVD players are tempermental and will not always read what's in them.  They were working fine one day and now they aren't.  Sometimes it will autoplay but most of the time if I go into "MY COMPUTER" they don't even show up.  HELP!! Please.

Clean the drives you can buy a disc cleaner which you place in the drives what discs are you using and what o/s is it...bri 8)

Gee, could it be as easy as that???

It's Windows XP Pro and I don't know what discs I am using ... some cheap brand that we buy by the 50 pack ... :-)  I'll clean it and see what happens.  Thanks.
