CONNECTING LAPTOP

i have recently bought a laptop it has bluetooth and wifi i have an ethernet 4 point plug in modem router new bought just before laptop and want to know cheapest way to get it connected wirelessly have already bought one item wrongly want to make sure i dont buy wrong thing again

2Wire 802.11b+ Wireless Ethernet Client Gaming Adapter is what we bought but laptop cant see it and hubby thinks all we need is different software i have no clue

Okay, so you have a wireless card for your laptop, but apparently no wireless access point?  That's what you need.  For optimum compatibility, buy a WAP of the same brand as your wireless card.
