CD-ROM drive not playing cds properly
« on: November 17, 2006, 11:41:56 PM »
i have a dvd cd-rw drive(philips cdrw/dvd). when i put in a cd, a music or dvd, the cd skips and does not play the cd continously. the cds do not have any scatches on them, and i've had this computer for only about 4 months. i checked the device manager and it says that it is working properly. my computer is an hp dv2000t laptop, and i do watch a lot of dvds on it, so maybe i over used it. do i possibly need to replace it? or maybe i need to clean the lens? anybody have any suggestions?

No doubt the machine has a warranty, so use it. That's what it's for.

problem fixed. i had to lower the tab on the hardware accelaration option, under advance settings for the speakers. that took care of the static and stutter that i was experiencing with my cd-rom drive.
