Hi,
Hopefully this hasn't alreay been answered anywhere else or anything, but I did have a bit of a look and couldn't find it.
I'm trying to install and run Windows 98 on my new computer, i've managed to do the installing alright, but I haven't once actually been able to get into it, I keep getting this message:
"Insufficient memory to initialise Windows
Quit one or more memory resident programs or remove utilities from config.sys and autoexec.bat and restart your computer
Press any key to continue"
From there the computer turns itself off.
My current config.sys looks like this:
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DOS=HIGH,UMB
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS
and autoexec.bat is empty. Even with only himem.sys going, I still can't get it to work. I've got 1.5 gig of RAM so I don't think it's that.
