I'll try to be as clear as i can but im fairly clueless as to whats happening to me.  :-?

I have a broadband modem that came with my ISP connection (zyxel prestige 600). Every so often when i am connected, my computer will stop showing web pages. It says looking for web page for a while then shows could not connect/could not find. As far as i have tried all other services keep running, my torrents are still downloading and i can still play online games, just web pages and outlook express stop working.

After switching my modem off and then back on it's usually working again fine. Also if i leave it on it will eventually start working again (it drops for around 20/30 min at a time, havn't really timed it). I have disabled my firewall to check so im sure its not the cause. I dont know if its my computer or the modems problem.

I know its pretty vague but i cant see any logic to it, sometimes working, sometimes not. Any advise would be appreciated.

Windows XP SP2
Internet Explorer 7
Zyxel Prestige 600 series

Many Thanks,
James

In alot of instances this can be old wiring into the home...do you notice a correlation between phone calls and this happening ? ?

No it happens much more often than phone calls and at all hours of the night. Also i've formatted my computer since this began and no change so im ruling out virus/malware. Thanks for your reply.

Reason i asked is i had a SpeedStream DSL modem once i used to fry eggs on...it lasted less than 3 months.

Not big enough for an omelette' but it worked fine for a Mexican Breakfast...
