thinkpad mem upgrade
« on: February 16, 2007, 03:02:43 PM »
I have a thinkpad 600e laptop which has 64mb memory 2x32 and I would like to upgrade it with a 128mb memory stick. My question is will the laptop recognise the memory straight away or do I have to change something in the bios, and if so how do I go about this. hope someone can help me out

If you have compatible memory (and you need to make sure beforehand!) then go into the BIOS and see that it is recognized, then reboot the machine. That's all there is to it.

Now go to www.crucial.com and see what you need. Check ALL of the characteristics for your model. Those have 64 meg standard and a maximum of two 128 meg chips.
