Did you set one PC to host the game?

You may need special software to create a server. I suggest you refer to the manual or the EA website.

the manual says that all that i have to do is to go to multiplayer LAN and press then i will be in the lobby..it doesn't mention anothing even about a dedicated server or something...

i don't know if i have a firewall..how can i  know if i have one??

If you have Windows XP SP2 and you donot know if you have a firewall, then you now most likely do. Turn it off by going to Start -> Settings -> Configuration screen -> Windows Firewall. (SP2 only)

Software firewalls are easily identified, check your system tray.

Your Router may also function as a firewall.

XP Home or Professional, both can be upgraded to SP2.
