Help needed on changed file properties
« on: March 12, 2007, 07:00:54 PM »
Please help.  I have been working all day and did a very stupid thing where I changed the time stamp on all my pictures at once and found that all comments I had written under file properties are gone.  Is there anything I can do?

    Need...more...info...gasp  :P

Operating system / antivirus & antispyware protection / service packs installed / when did it start happening / did it ever work right / installed any new software?

Do a system restore to a point prior to the problem starting:

Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / choose a restore point.

XP Pro SP2.  I did it myself.  I changed the time stamp on all the photos at once and lost all the comments I had typed in under the comments section on file properties for each photo.  There is no restore point that I would want to use.  I was hoping it could be reversed in some clever way.  If you think I am screewed, please let me know and will have to redo it all.

    Thanks

I tried the restore points but it did nothing.  It is treating the pictures as files that were saved once again under the same name.  If there is a way to go back within a group of files to restore it at some point of evolution, then that may be what I need but fear it is not to be.  Tell me if you agree it is hopeless.  Thanks
