I have my notebook running two OS Vista and XP Professional as dual boot works fine, on the one drive. It has been partitioned into equal parts That is 20 GB each. I have install Vista Home Premuin, would not use Home Basic. In fact would never install Home Basic on any computer, XP Home  has more to offer than Home Basic (Vista).

I had a bad experience trying to use both (even when each one resides in its own partition). When I tried to install vista I lost xp and vice versa. That's why I am sceptical!

patio:
It shouldn't be a problem at all...Step by Step Guide

There is also a neat little program called Vista BootPro as Vista does handle the boot process a bit differently.

Good Luck and let us know.
