Vista to XP?

(1/1)

Fantastick_Dave:
This may be over the top, but:  I recently bought a Toshiba Laptop (Satellite A135-S4427).  Due to compatibility issues with a number of programs, etc., I am curious: is it possible to re-format this laptop with XP, even though it arrived with Vista?  The software that I have been using, including ACT 6.0, CompanionLink, Office 2003, Acrobat 6.0, etc. all worked fine with XP, but I am experiencing compatibility issues with Vista.  So, can it be done? :-/

CBMatt:
You should be able to format your computer and install XP by booting with a legitimate CD...

I don't think you can install XP over Vista, but maybe I'm wrong?

soybean:
Yes, you can do that, i.e. format and install XP.  You may need to visit Toshiba's website and download device drivers.
