question on CD ROM drive for vistai

i need some help with vista for some reason my computer is telling me that my CD ROM driver is corrut or is missing (error code 39) if anyone can help me fix it thanks

Is this during the Vista installation, or after?

Any recent changes?

Have you tried reinstalling the driver?

Even if its new:
Do you have antivirus installed?
