On another computer forum they have a thread like this and it's interesting to see what people's setups are.  Just post a diagram or something of your home network.

Nice diagram there.  Mine would be similar, same number of computers connecting to the Internet via a router but all them connected by wire to a router.  This includes 3 desktops and a laptop.  The laptop has been used wirelessly but is currently connected by Cat5 cable to the router, like the desktops.

Have you ever thought about adding print server to the network?  It would connect to the router and the printer would be connected to it.  That way, no individual computer must running in order for any other computer to use the printer.

I have thought about that.  However, I don't have the money to buy a low end machine from someone and my mom/dad isn't going to cough it up when we don't "need" one.

Is it possible to have a print/file server running as one?  I'm assuming it is.  But I just want to make sure.

I'm talking about a dedicated device, not a computer used as a server.  For example, see Print servers from newegg.com.
