Hi, i'm trying to open this file to play, not having much luck,has anyone any ideas?

If you change the file extension by replacting e.g. filename.mp3 to filename.wma, it pretty much destroys the file.
Try using VLC Media Player to play the file.
VLC Media player also plays almost all movie files.

I believe you should change the file extension back to the original.  Then, try VLC.

Changing a file extension is not going to convert and .mp3 to a .wma file or vice versa.  The file, itself, still has the mp3 or wma characteristics it had before changing the file extension.
