XP sound problem

The sound's too low on my computer (Windows XP Professional /Toshiba laptop)

Try moving the balance around, it could be one of your speakes isnt working and the computer is still trying to spread the sound to the 2 speakers.

I don't know how to do that, I guess a technician could.

Try moving the balance around, it could be one of your speakes isnt working and the computer is still trying to spread the sound to the 2 speakers.

Check attatched picture

    Boot into Safe Mode (tap the F8 key when you boot) \ go into Device Manager (it's in Control Panel) / click on the + next to Sound & uninstall all the drivers  / reboot.  Windows should reinstall the drivers.  Make sure you have your Windows CD handy, as well as the cd for the sound card (be it built on the motherboard or in a PCI slot) just in case :o
