Some people like to post to get their count up. I hope this doesn't apply to you, but review these:

In all fairness, most of those posts are on the Off Topic board, which doesn't affect your postcount either way.  Anyone posting there is bound to have plenty of pointless posts.

Well it sounds like either a driver or video card problem then. Are you sure you got the correct driver? Does it have a fan that is turning? Have you checked the system temps. How old is the card?

the card has a fan and it is turning, the system temp is at 61 degrees and the card is alittle over a year old.

Try powering down removing all power sources and remove the card and re-seat it...while you have it out you can clean the contacts with a q-Tip and some rubbing alcohol or a pencil eraser.

Use compressed air to blow out any dust in the slot it came out of and re-install everything and re-boot.

Make sure to take anti-static precautions when working inside the case...

Since the problem exhibited itself on another monitor it kinda points to the card as the culprit...

If you are sure the correct drivers are installed it may just be that the card is failing.

I know it's alot of effort but can you swap that card into another machine to see if it does the same thing ? ?

How old is this card ? ?

Any hints at all on NVidia's forums ? ?
