Easy C++ Programming Book
« on: May 07, 2007, 08:47:34 PM »
I am looking for an easy to use C++ programming book, that will:

  • Keep my attention
  • Be very easy to learn (complete newbie to C language)
  • Have a good format
  • Isnt 1024 pages

The last book I got just suddenly jumped into coding, and I simply said "*censored*" in my mind, and put it down, and now its about to be returned to the Post office so it can be sent back.

(It was something like C++ Primere, version 3)
***WP: "It was like" shows lack of intelligence. Adding "something" shows that I still don't know, but its more professional. (Not that the work "like" should be used anyways)

    Jesse Liberty's "Learn C++ in 21 days" is pretty good. You don't have to actually learn in 21 days (I'm more using it as a reference, now), and the info isn't complete (NO info on vectors, tsk tsk), but it's designed for the newbie. Easy to read. I hae 5th Edition, but the Second and maybe Third are available as free Ebooks. I'll give a link when I get the chance. :) (Currently de-virus-ing mother's laptop... ex-Norton subscriber...)

    How on earth did I know that you would be the first to respond, Dilbert?
    (I was just going to PM you)

    I will see if my library has it

    Thanks, Tim  :)

      I have no life, and you all know it. Also, I'm good at finding resources for things I'm learning myself. :)

        I know C++ purists will crucify me for using a "In XYZ days" book, but the info is good... ;)
