ie 7.0
« on: May 06, 2007, 05:34:11 PM »
Hi'

I am new to the forum so I'll introduce myself.  My name is Bob and I run a Intel mb with xp pro sp2. I would like to download IE 7.0 but I do not want IE 6.0 deleted. Can anyone tell how I can accomplish this? I have a web site and I like to keep tabs on how it looks in different browsers. Thanks.

                                                                                          Bob

DLoading and installing IE7 will not affect IE6....as a matter of fact it is relatively easy to revert back to 6 after you see what fun ver. 7 is...

However, I would not want to repeatedly install and uninstall IE7.  Sure would be good if you could use separate computers for this.  Any chance you could get cheap used PC?  It could even be Win 98SE, with IE 6.

Any reason, besides curiosity, you want to use IE7 when Firefox is a much better & more secure brower, IMHO?

I'd like to know why you want both 6.0 and 7.0...  Is this for designing purposes?  Or are you just a browser packrat?

Clearly, is it for designing purposes.  In his OP, he said, "I have a web site and I like to keep tabs on how it looks in different browsers."

Wow, I totally missed that whole sentence.  Sorry, I'm tired and maybe a little hungover...

Thanks for putting me in my place, soybean.  Ha.

In that case...you should also download/install Opera if you haven't already done so.  It can be a pain (for me anyway) getting certain random things to work properly, but it's good to use for reference.
