They wouldn't be the same price, iPods are always overpriced in my experience.
If they were, I'd still stay far away from the iPod.
I don't like the way they look, I don't like the controls, and they lack innovative and useful features.
Also, you have to use iTunes to transfer tracks, correct?
And it's DRM protected, and you can only use certain formats?
Bah.
I see no reasons to go for one, every reason to stay away from them, and always have done.

Yeah, mp3s are MUCH easier to use too. And they don't need charging.
With my mp3 I need a AA battery so I don't have to carry a power socket around, just a battery that lasts like 10 hours.

I just like the ipod because of the ability to play videos and its mass storage.
I hate that you have to convert the audio and if ITunes is set as a default audio player, it takes a very long time to start if you are trying to play something from your computer.

Apple...tisk tisk tisk
one more point for the ipod, you HAVE to switch it to Hold when you put it in your pocket or something to avoid the sticking-out buttons from being pressed...
Very annoying...

I'd say iPod because of it slim and unique design, I personally have a shuffle ipod and its enough for me wherever I go. But if I had a chance I'd buy iRiver I like the look of it much better.
I got an iRiver and have never looked back. iPods are the biggest waste of money known to man, they brake, the sound quality isnt all that great and to use it you have to use frikin iTunes. iTunes is god awfull to use. With my iRiver Copy and Paste, thats it. A few of my mates have had 3 in the past year. Yes it depends on how you use them but my mate got his iRiver run over by a bus by accident and all that was wrong was the screen, still played music and everything. It seems you look at an iPod and it brakes.
    Rant over

    That depends on the model.
My music player as a rechargeable li-ion battery, lasts for ~20 hours.
It also came with a wall charger, which I understand iPods don't any more?
5Gb too, for less than the price of a 4Gb iPod Mini at the time.

Shouldn't this poll be MP4 or Ipod because for as far as I know an Ipod is an MP4 Player.

I have to agree with you about the iTunes, its the most retarded thing Apple has ever done just like Sony made SonicStage also a need to convert before you can play the files.
Its not what you know, its what you can do that counts!
