What happened before this started?
What monitor and video card do you have, and what OS?
Have you tried another monitor, or tried that monitor on another PC?
How old is the PC and monitor?
When was the PC last cleaned out?
And do you have unshielded speakers or other sources of interference near this monitor?
What kind of monitor is it?

1. It was going slow (the pc in general)
2. Monitor is a sharp 19" (all I know) and video card, no Idea because im not at home at the moment, I am using XP
3. Yeah I have tried the monitor on another computer.
4. Yes the tower was cleaned out today.
5. Speakers are shielded and haven't worked for some time.

We'll need info on the video card when you have it too.

Let us know about the video card. You can DLoad and run Everest Home for all that data.

What was the result with the monitor on another machine ? ?

You didn't use a vaccuum to clean the tower did you ? ?

I've encountered this issue in the past, and what I would suggest is to reseat your video by just taking it out and putting it back in again, and making sure it is screwed in tightly. You may also want to screw in the cord on your monitor securely to the back of the computer. And if it's a loose cord in the monitor, try jiggling it around a few times till you get a clear picture. Most likely, one of these solutions will clear it up.

ah, right I have the invoice in front of me and I think this is it: 128MB RADEON 9800SE ALL IN WONDER

Monitor worked fine on another computer, and I'm not sure whether my dad hovered it or not

DLoad a fresh copy of your video drivers from the manuf. site.
Uninstall the current drivers and re-boot. Windows will load generic drivers...enough to function at least.
Re-install the fresh drivers.

It should be as simple as a driver issue as the monitor performed normally on another machine...

well its fixed now, removed graphics card, tried another and it was fine...then messed about with msconfig and stuff, put normal graphics card in (which is top notch apparently) and its fine, must have just need taking out and putting back in
