I have never used windows xp media center is it any good???

can you upgrade to windows xp home with it....

I've never used it, but I advise going for the standard Home or Pro editions instead.

XP MCE is not a valid upgrade product to XP Home as it was released afterwards.  Are you wanting to upgrade to Media Center? I am unsure what you are trying to accomplish. Which product do you have?

I am shopping for a new computer may be a dell or an hp.  alot of the computers i have looked at have the media center on it. 

i was just wondering if i can put windows xp pro or home over media center....

Dell is still selling computers with XP Pro. Why not just get what you want from the start?
