Yeah, I see it now.  It was just blank space before.  Same with my own signature.  When I had Steve's picture in it, there was just blank space, but my picture still showed up.  In Steve's signature, I just see a red X.  Very odd.

EDIT:  Now you both have blank space.  I need to go to bed.  Ha.

Is everybody just being incredibly naive here?  That seems to be the case.  Frankly, if I were CH Admin, I might also be inclined to block an image promoting a competing forum.

I would block all pictures in signatures. It is unfair to the people on dialup. And yes, there are still quite a few of them out there.

This makes sense, but as far as I know, Nathan never had a problem with Saviour's signature block before.  And what exactly are we competing for?  Did we start getting paid by commission without my knowledge?

Eh, it's now about what "we" are competing for; it's about drawing traffic to one's own website, as opposed to helping create traffic for someone else's site.  If you've invested a great amount of time, effort, and money into developing a website with the intention of generating some income from it, from ads or direct sales of products or services, you want to draw traffic to your site, not help competing sites build traffic.  A forum is a way of drawing traffic to a site.

CBMatt, you and I aren't the owners of this site.  I could be wrong, but I think you be quite sure that the owner, who I presume is Nathan, has not done all of this just because he wants to have a website.  Like any serious web entrepreneur, he wants to maximize traffic to his website, not someone else's.

The Saviour ........  I would suggest removing the link to YOUR COMPUTER Forum that OFFERS FREE help

Your signature breaks a Computer Hope rule........ and just so you don't think your being singled out your not.

I don't feel like I'm being singled out at all...

No problem dl65...I'm real easy to get along with...seriously.

    Consider the image removed.

BTW...the money I make from my main site would probably make you laugh.  Most of the money I make is from local computer repair in my area.  Although I do get a few commission checks (now and then) from some of my affiliations...it's nothing to write home about...trust me on that.

A while back...I just wanted to start offering free computer help to those looking for it...same as Nathan...

So I have Google ads...so what...a lot of forums do.  You can ask any of the current members of my forum if I've ever really gone out of my way to push any of my products on them...you'll be surprised at their answers.

But enough about that...it's really not important...I'll just remove the sig as to not cause any ill feelings...and again...it's no big deal.  I was just wondering...that's all.

Yeah, I get what you're saying, soybean.  I was just feeling a bit snappy when I said that.  I had a long, hard, stressful day (lots of drama that's not appropriate for a computer help forum), and although I didn't realize it at the time, I think I had a bit of an attitude because I really wasn't feeling well.  Sorry about that.  I haven't exactly been at my best these last couple of days.  I think I'm doing better now, though.

To summarize it as briefly as possible...my younger sister and I nearly got into a fist-fight because she's ungrateful and spoiled and when I scolded her for yelling at our grandmother, she took a swing at me.  I didn't retaliate, but I definitely wanted to.  Heh.  My mom came home from work to yell at me for hitting my sister (which I didn't do) and then yelled at my grandmother for not letting my sister borrow her car (my grandma kept offering to let my sister to borrow the car, but she refused).  My mom still doesn't believe us.  The next day, my mom and I got into a yelling match.  She was mad at me for going over the cell phone minutes, even though the bill proves I did no such thing.  It was, in fact, my mom who used the minutes.  The only person I talk to is my girlfriend, and she always calls the house.  Speaking of whom...we've been getting into a lot of arguments because we are both stressed about different things going on in our lives.  We've patched things up, but we're still stressed, so there's still some tension.  It doesn't help that we basically lived together all during April but haven't seen each other since (our soonest possible chance is next week).  And that, in a nutshell, was my weekend.

Now, give me some Bon Bons and turn on Dr. Phil.

Do something nice for your little sister out of the blue...

    Hug Grandma.

Spend dinnertime tomorrow talking and listening to Mom...

Don't call the girlfriend for a day or two...see how it goes from there.
