Problem Booting PC

   Ok everyone, sorry, this is my first build.  So one night im playing Vanguard Saga of Heroes and I go to sleep, wake up the next morning and try to boot my PC.  The lights come on and the fans come on for about 1 or 2 seconds then the computer would shut off.  I figured it was my ram, so I got Corsair to send me a replacement pair.  I replaced my ram and the PC worked that night.  The next morning I woke up and tried to start the pc up and the lights and fans came on for a split second then shut off.  Whenever I move the little red switch on the back of the PSU from 115v to 230v the computer will stay on but the monitor will say No Signal =\.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, here are the specs on my pc:

Motherboard - GA-M59SLI-S5
RAM               - CM2X512A-6400 (x2)
CPU               - AMD Dual Core 3800+
Video Card    - EVGA 7600 GT
PSU               - Turbolink LC-A420ATX

Whenever I move the little red switch on the back of the PSU from 115v to 230v  <  "what game are you playing where you think it requires you to do that"    Oh Heaven !   

**  I would sit tight and wait for one of our veteran members to ask you the pertinent questions and see if your system can be restored*.

Might have to wait till morning or if a bright puter tech reads this tonight... hang in there...........

Flicking that switch to the wrong setting is a good way to blow your psu. Have you tried using just one stick of ram and trying it in both slots. Then try the other stick again trying it in both slots.

Does this problem occur each time you shut down your Pc having just installed the ram.

Have you checked to see if this ram is compatible with your motherboard.

RAM is compatible yes.  And I didn't think that I had to move the red switch on the back of the PSU to play games, I was just desperate to get it to work so i flicked it and it stayed on but monitor would not function so I put it back to the original setting.  I have tried switching the sticks and the same thing still happens.  This is the first time I have put a new set of RAM in, the original set worked for about 3-4 months then the problem occured.

i have the SAME problem. i buildt a computer,my first and it came on the first time, monitor and all, next time all it did was flicker.  so i flipped the switch on my PSU and it worked!...but my monitor did not...is there something we are missing?  just wanted to let you know your not alone, and i have een all around and can find no info on this.

Yea, same here, no info seems to be out there on this =\. It's bugging the crap out of me because I was just getting into CAL for CSS and was going to be joining a CPL team this summer but so far its looking like i'm not going to be able to do that ;(

Ok the next things to look at would be the psu and the cpu. Make sure your cpu heatsink is properly seated and that the fan is spinning. If you can get it to boot up check the cpu temp to see if its getting to hot.

The next thing would be to swap out the psu for another, or get a computer shop to try one in there for you. That little red switch btw controls voltage for the country region you are in. Not a good idear to switch this untill you know for sure. Places like USA use the 115v lower one.

Also;  did you notice the first couple times did the fan spin on the 7600 GT ??

Have you tried re-fitting the card in & out of the pci-e  slot ?

ok i have the solution, after hours of research and going down and talking in person to geeksquad, they came to the same conclusion my research proved.  and as stated above they said it was the PSU.  exchange your psu where you bought it and bring your comp with you if you bought it at a retail store and have them check it in the store BEFORE YOU LEAVE.  if that does not fix it then it is your video card

Welp, I got the new power supply and the problem is still occuring =(.. It's not my video card because im running it in my brothers computer now since mine has been down

Remove the MBoard from the case.
Place it on a rubber mat or a piece of cardboard.
Hook up the following :

PSU.
One stick of RAM.
Mouse and keyboard.
Vid card (if applicable)
Monitor.

Power up and tell us what happens...
