PHP and MySQL?

I'm trying to host a forum on my computer but when I try to install phpBB 2.0 it said I am using an invalid database type. I installed the php driver and the MySQL driver I think I need to link php with MySQL but how?

PHP and MySQL are separate server modules (last I checked)

Have you installed the two individual server modules?

What type of server are you using?
