I use WMP 11 on my xp system. Whenever I download a wmv from my browser
( Firefox). It will play fine, but when I go to download another file WMP won't open and there is nothing short of rebooting that will fix it. When I do shut down windows I get this "Media event sink window not responding message" I can then "end now" and windows will close. This has been very frustrating and I have done a google search on solutions. It is apparently a frequent problem but the solution has been elusive. Most say to reinstall WMP 11 or switch to version 9. I did the reinstall but am having a hard time finding version 9 anymore online. If I could, I'd prefer not using WMP , is there an alternative to playing wmv ffiles or is there a solution to this problem?
