help..
« on: June 05, 2007, 02:04:10 PM »
 ???
okay..so i'm not at all good on computers..i dont even know if im posting this in the right place  :'(
so i was deleting some stuff off my computer..and i also cleared out my recycle bin..but i think i went a little too far ^^ and deleted something i shouldnt..because now there is no sound!! i had it last night..  >:(
that little volume icon has dissapeared from the bottom of the screen.. and when i go to windows media player, it says..
the file you are attempting to play has an extension that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behaviour.and then i ignored that..and clicked yes to play the song anyway..and then it said Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly.

GAH! i have no idea what to dooo :( i want music!!! please help!  ;D

Re-install your sound card drivers and re-boot...

Run DirectX Diagnostic (type dxdiag into Run on the start menu), and look at the Sound sub-menu. Also look under More Help, and troubleshoot sound.

Also, look at your System Info (link uner More Help), and check your Audio Codecs (Components > Multimedia > Audio Codecs) and well as Sound Device (check your driver).

Report back with what comes up.
