« on: August 13, 2007, 08:17:20 AM »
Hi
Have just installed a new Mother board in my Computer the old board board was damaged due to a power supply failure.Ny problem is the original installation disc windows 2000 has been lost I am not sure of what version it was,in an attempt to format the HD Iam trying to boot from a windows 2000 pro version and just get the blue error message I have checked the bios and all is ok.
IS it because I am not using the original disc that I am having problems.

regards
John

Is the 2000 pro CD an original or just a copy?

No matter what OS was on your machine prior to this an authentic Win2KPro CD should boot fine.
It doesn't matter even if the drive is empty.
What blue error message ? ?
This means it's still trying to boot from the hard drive.

Enter setup and set the first boot device to CDRom...
