Connecting my Macbook Pro to a TV
« on: August 14, 2007, 10:30:07 PM »
Okay, so I just got an LCD HDTV, and I am wondering what kinda of cables I need to connect the two.  I have been looking all over and can't find any clear information on it.  Basically, the TV has the HDMI hook-ups and a VGA hookup, and my MacBook Pro has, obviously, the DMI connector.

Now, the guy at the store said all I needed was a DMI to VGA cord.  However, the one Apple makes is like 3-inches, so I'll need a longer one, but what I've read on most places is that you need a seperate cable for audio.  What I need to know is is this true, and if so, is there some kind of cable out there that I can't find that transmits both audio and video into the TV from my MacBook Pro, and if so how much and where can I find it.

Sorry if it's not clear enough, it's the best I could make it for now.  Thanks.
