User Profile Service failed the Logon

So last night, my younger sister attempted to download a song, canceled the download, then got a warning box saying her computer was at risk (she doesn't remember if it was our Kapersky Internet Security or just Windows Vista). After that, her computer started making pig noises ( ), so she shut it down. When she turned it on and tried to log into her account, it said "The User Profile Service failed the Logon."

Should we use the restore CD or try to get it restored for some rediculous service fee? Is there any way to fix it on our own?

Edit: She has Windows Vista on an Inspiron 1525.

Mmm, looks like a useful guide, but the problem is that we can't get into the account, and she only has one. Is there some way around that problem? xD

Thanks a ton! She was able to re-boot it with the restore disk, but it made the pig noise again, so we installed the Kapersky again and we're running every test it has. Hopefully it can find whatever's wrong....
