thanks for your help I ran it, but still can't log in.  I belive I am using internet exployer 7.

Also I don't know if this means anything but before I log in I get a Security Alert telling me that the name on the security certificates is invalid or does not match the name of the site.  I usually say yes and proceed.  Although I don't  remember this message popping up before ::)

OK I tired that but now I get this message  "The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.  Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.   "  if I continue it goes to that blank screen with "https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?co_partnerid=2&siteid=0&UsingSSL=1" highlighed in pink. Did a setting get changed, ebay should be a secure sight!!  I never had any problem before, of course now that I want to sell something I can't log in. :o

I downloaded foxfire...but it still won't let me in.  The message about the certificate still comes up.  I tired to get help from ebay, but since I can log in on another computer they said they couldn't help me...go figure.  Any more suggestions before I call geeks?  thanks so much!

It sounds like your browser is being redirected, start with these 2 online scans then get back to us.
          Ewido/AVG Anti-Spyware Online Scan
          Panda Activescan

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.

ok go to windows update do the custom option and update anything there i bet there might be a Certification update. if there is one after the update try logging into ebay.  then follow
this guide and then this one and see if that helps

OK I tried that also cannot still get on!  Although on scan said I had a .dll error.  I googled it and downloaded a reg scan, which found errors.  It fixed some and said I needed to pay to fix the rest.  Does this sound like something I need to do?  Ok thanks!!

when did this start?? have you tried to restore your computer to before this started?

It just started the other day.  I haven't tried to restore anything.  Ebay is my only problem.  I can log on or into any other site so far expect for ebay!

try a system restore (not a reformat,) you won't lose anything

                    start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore.

restore to a day before it started.

Here is the free version of Spybot Search and Destroy.

You need to be logged in to download it...

If you're already logged in...just go to the Downloads page and do a search for Spybot...you'll find it there.

How did you set IE to it's defaults?
Was it something like the following?

                              1. Start
                              2. Settings
                              3. Control Panel

These two files are in your running processes...

                              C:\WINDOWS\inf\svchost\svchost.exe
                              C:\WINDOWS\inf\svchost.exe

I don't know if they're related to your problem, but you should get rid of them.  Reboot into Safe Mode, enable hidden files and folders, and delete those two files.  Don't get them confused with C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe, which is legit.  If you have any problems deleting those files (you may need the help of Killbox), let me know.  You should post a new HijackThis log so I can see if we're making any progress.

I deleted..still not working.  I have questions I am no pro but..maybe I deleted that dll file thats let me share?  Is it possible to download that dll file?  (hey I don't even know what a dll is so I could be total off based! ::)).  I am just desperate since most geek/tech stores are closed.

It's possible that a missing file could be causing problems, but I think it's unlikely.  However, we may be able to find out.  Do you have an official Windows CD for your computer?  Do you have trouble logging into other sites, or just eBay?  Also, have you tried contacting eBay to get their opinion?

I'm still interested in seeing a new HijackThis log.

OK last time here...do I go to another forum to start as a new hyjack? ::)  I did ask ebay  and they said since I can log on from another computer that is my laptop not their problem.  Last night Dell logged on to my computer..basically did what everyone told me here to do and still couldn't fix it (they tired for about 2 hours!)..he said it was ebay's problem, since I only have a problem with their website!! I really don't want to pay someone big bucks to tell me the same thing and not fix it.  Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!
