I am running Win XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service pack 2 and have a question about the Add and Remove Programs screen.
My question is that I seem to have this large blanked out space between the listing of two of the programs.  The screen is either blacked out or has alternating wide black/white stripes.  I am concerned that maybe something has taken over part of my machine and is hiding the listing.
Is that possible?  If it was caused by something malicious, how do I remove the blanked out part?  Or is it nothing to be concerned about?
The computer itself is a Compaq Presario w/Celeron 2.53 GHz and 760 MB ram.

TIA for any help,
nodddaz

Do you or did you at one time have Autocad installed on that machine ? ?

If you've updated and run antivirus and antispyware scans and have come up with nothing, then I wouldn't be too concerned.  Sometimes windoze just messes up and doesn't know how to fix itself.

Could be a badly coded program uninstaller. For example, AutoCAD is famous for causing this problem, it creates an incorrect registry entry for the uninstaller icon.

You may want to get "X-Setup", and see what it finds. It used to be free, not it's a shareware, but it should be functional enough for your problem.

Out of curiosity what does the Tools section of Ccleaner show, you may even be able to delete the blank space from there.
If not a quick Google for "add remove" +white brings up plenty of remedies.
