Help! Can't log on to windows

Hi,

Need help with a little problem.  I purchased a computer in a government auction, the computer boots up fine however when it goes to open windows I get a window asking me for user name and password.  I've tried everything to try and get pass this with no luck. Can someone outhere help?

    rx7freak......did you get a operating system disk with the pc ? Sound like possibly they formatted the system before putting it up for auction and someone neglected to revise the sign in feature .....You have just tried hitting the enter key when that sign in window appears haven't you .
    What is the operating system thats installed ?

    or use the f8 key on boot<safe mode> and make another users account.....

    dl65....No I did not get an OS disk with it, but is trying to open windows 2000 with nt technology.  I am going to try what Merlin_2 is suggesting. I'll let you guys know what happens either way.
