    Windows Movie Maker
    « on: October 10, 2007, 08:42:11 AM »
    Hello fellow Computer Hoprians,

I have always had Windows Movie Maker (2.1) on my Toshiba laptop yet I only tried recently opening it. As soon as I open the file I am encountered with the familiar. "Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." I have collected what I have from this report to see if you guys may interpret it.

    AppName: moviemk.exe    AppVer: 2.0.3312.0    ModName: qedit.dll
    ModVer: 6.5.2600.2180    Offset: 0001a513

The following files will be included in this error report.
    C:\DOCUME~1\James\LOCALS~1\Temp\3043_appcompat.txt

Any ideas? If not could someone please specify a "Movie"creator that has the same capabilitys as WMM (eg. Titles credits anywhere in the movies images ect.) Thank you for your support.

    Yours Faithfully
                         Jamez.

      Interesting reading here:
      http://www.papajohn.org/MM2-Issues-Acceleration-and-Codecs.html
Lots of reading, so you'll have to sort it out.

I believe the current version is 2.2 (after XP SP2 upgrade)

As for a different editor, the Wax editor can apparently utilise WMM transitions and effects, has multiple video timelines, see it here http://www.debugmode.com/wax/

        And its free
