Maxtor Hard Drive
« on: October 23, 2007, 09:04:09 AM »
Trying to make my Maxtor hard drive a slave drive to my new HP computer.  Bought a external case and hooked it up but can not access information.  I was told to make the external drive a slave.  The jumpers look as if it was already a slave DS has no Jumper, CS Enabled has jumper, not sure what to do.

Do you have this info on top of the drive ? ?

It is a 10 Pin

:::.:  this is the configuration.  First row just pins, second row has jumper, third row just pins, fourth row single lower pin no upper pin, fifth row two pins yet upper pin has a permanent plastic block.

Instructions on top of drive say no jumper = ds(slave)

Just spotted this...try it with no jumper.
