THE SIMS 2
« on: December 13, 2004, 09:53:46 AM »
Hey guys, I was asking EA support about the system requirements for the Sims 2, and the box says 256 MB required, but a FEW techs. for EA told me that almost 384 MB is REALLY required..... Just a public service announcement for any Sim Gamers...  8)

Games these days are so bloated. I remember when 4 megs of RAM was luxury.

Did you know that some Victorian guy designed the first "computer"? (Although it never got built). It was steam-powered and made out of metal cogs and stuff. Theoretically speaking it should have worked... programs were read in on punched paper and it could perform basic maths operations.

I don't remember steam power and metal cogs, but I am all to familiar with punch cards and paper tape. Disk drives hadn't been invented yet. And 64K RAM was a genuine whopper.

I think you can even find an emulator for it somewhere.

Charles Babbage. And it wasn't steam powered by the way - it was manually operated by pulling on a large lever. And you ain't ever going to get The Sims 2 running on it.

Help.  We just purchased Sims 2 (and increased RAM to 384) however after loading, we get the following message. "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0C compatible graphics adapters in this system.  Make sure you have a Direct X 9.0C compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest driver"    We do not have a clue what this means.

            Please help.
