My Computer Icon
« on: November 15, 2007, 07:58:49 AM »
Hello All,

Be gentle, this is my first post  :)  I have been trying to fix my mother's computer and am having a tough time.  It is a Compaq Presario Desktop, running Windows XP, and 768 mb of RAM.

The problem is:

When you click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop it opens to the screen where the drives should be but it just comes up with an hourglass and is searching.  I believe this started aftershe attempted to install a drive for her HP scanner, at least that's when I recall this start to happen.

Thanks so much for any suggestions
