XP deleted files don't go to recycle bin
    « on: April 13, 2004, 02:06:19 PM »
I am using Windows XP home edition (build 2600) in my E-machines    T-1115.  None of the files  that I delete get into the Recycle Bin.  Any ideas how to cure this?

Right-click recycle bin, click properties, uncheck dont move to recycle bin. Hope this helps; let us know.

This seems to work for many: Make sure that something is in the Recycle Bin (delete any file). With the Recycle Bin closed, right click and choose: Empty Recycle Bin. When the confirm box appears, click ok. Reboot. Now the Recycle Bin should work correctly.

Merlin, You hit it right on the head!  Your advice worked like a charm.  Many thanks; this has been bothering me for 2 years.
