CPU @ 100%
« on: December 29, 2004, 10:23:14 AM »
My CPU is running at 100% thanks to a process
called {UDSERVICE} I dont know where it came from or what lanches it. I can open Task manager and kill it but  of cource
it returns after a shutdown or reboot. Can anybody point me
in the direction of a fix? I have run two different virus programs and addware programs to no avail.

Hi, Google gives very little info for UDSERVICE so can you give a little more info please?

Which OS are you using? If you know the path to UDSERVICE can you tell us where it is?

Derek.

Do you run the UD Agent? You should be able to disable the service and locate the program and uninstall it. If you are running the UD Agent and want it to run under all accounts, there are other ways to accomplish this. Under XP and 2000 the UD Agent  will normally only run if logged in to the account under which it was installed.

I am running under Win XP home I have disabled the UD agent in services to no avail. I have run virus scans as
in norton, Fix-It-5, and trend micro on line again to no avail.
AdAware  and spybot S&D came up with no answers.

You will have to disable the UDService program. Go into task manager and stop the service from running. Locate and uninstall the program (UDService - not the UD Agent).

You could try removing its entry from the startup list. Go to start > run > msconfig
