Wupdater

I have problems with freezing - I had a spyware problem too-but it's taken care of.  Anyway, I have to restart often a, clear my cache & the AOL artwork, etc.  I also was told to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to close everything except Explorer amd Systray--each time I see "Wupdater" not responding.  What's up?  (P.S.  I would gauge my expertise somewhere between Beginner & Intermediate user)  Can you help? ???

Mary,

Wupdater is a malware / spyware program that should definitely be removed from your computer, we highly recommend you review the below link.

We would first recommend that you install a spyware / adware detection program and/or make sure the spyware protection program installed on the computer is the latest up to date version. A listing of good spyware programs can be found on the below document.

In additional to being a spyware program this program is also maleware (Trojan); make sure your running the latest up to date version of your virus scanner. Additional information about this can be found on the below link.
