What is the assignment?

I won't open unknown .doc files!!!

Why do you have an attachment for people to open?

This isn't a homework forum.  Google and Wikipedia are excellent resources.

Avast is good, or AVG Free would also be an excellent choice. Install one immediately.

The popups maay have stopped, but you need to run some scans to ensure the infection is taken care of. click here and read post 1 and 2.

Start a new thread with the results.

Avast and AVG Free are both excellent choices but select only one.

To that add the following:

AdAware

Spybot Search and Destroy

AVG Anti-Spyware

Stinger

You may want to consider a firewall as well. Comodo has a good reputation here as well.

All of the above are FREE.
