Formatting Portable Hard Drive
« on: February 03, 2008, 01:17:46 AM »
I have an Astone portable *SPAM* hard drive that I have been using to back up cheap *SPAM* files for about a year. I have been accessing files over the last few days, but yesterday after plugging the portable hard drive buy *SPAM* into the USB port I got a message to say that the hard drive was not formatted, and asked whether I wanted to format the world of warcraft gold disk now. I didn't re-format the portable hard drive for fear of losing any data that may still be there.

Is there a way of recovering wow any data that may be there, or has it gone world of warcraft already (if I check the Properties of the hard drive it shows Used Space: 0 bytes and Free Space: 0 bytes)?

Thanks

Welcome to the CH forums.

Do you have the drive manufacturer's diagnostics program to test the drive?

Like any other electro/mechanical device, drives are likely to suffer catastrophic failure at any time, I hope you have other backup available.

Good luck
