HELP! DVD's won't play
« on: February 17, 2008, 12:52:54 PM »
Hi, ever since I got my laptop running on Window's vista i haven't been able to play dvds. i can't play them on window's media player, i just get this message: Window's media player cannot play the file. THe player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
I also can't play dvds on the Toshiba DVD player either and i get this error message: The specific drive cannot be located. Check the setting by going to Settings -> Action settings -> Source, or otherwise check that the drive has been properly connected to the PC. I have tried going to settings, but that was no help, and i don't know how to check if the drive is properly connected to the PC.
Also, when I go to My Computer, the drive isn't even located there. Sooo how can I get DVDs to play,  and do i need some sort of driver to play them?
