Have been running vista home premium for about 8 months. Yesterday my computer screen froze so I did a restart. Vista did not start normally but came up in safe mode. I tried to do a system restore. It appeared to be successful but when I restarted vista did not start and now I can not even get it to come up in the safe mode again. Vista has repeatedly attempted to repair itself but no avail. I do not know what to try next. I do not want to do a complete recovery as I will lose a ton of stuff (should have backed up). I would really appreciate some help.
