My computer will not boot up

    Hope someone can help. My father in laws computer has ceased to start up and neither of us has a very good computer brain. The message on the full page screen when starting explains that the computer was closed incorrectly, but after trying all the options it gives to start the computer it moves on to the Windows screen (as if to start) for a second and then begins this cycle again and again. No idea what to do, please help.

In addition to your computer's specs, could you please tell us whether or not you made any recent hardware or software changes to this computer?
