ISO burning program
« on: March 04, 2008, 02:55:28 PM »
Hello guys!

Can you recommend other programs or softwares, aside from Nero, that can burn ISO images? Is there any freeware software of such kind?

Thanks in advance!  ;D

k3b.  That's what I use to do all of mine.  Depending on your distro it can be very simple to get.

So that's why you posted in the BSD, Linux, and Unix forum?

    Hi! Deerpark!

    I downloaded again Burnaware, this time I installed it in a Windows XP computer. I was able to burn a live CD of Ubuntu but have problems loading it.. I dont know the reasons why it wont boot.

    Hi Willy!

    I downloaded also cdburnerxp and installed it in the same computer. I was also able to burn a cd and no problems booting in it..

    Guys, thank you very much.. ;D

      Hmm sounds strange...
      You burned the disc an image right? Not as a regular data disc?
      But anyway, CDBurnerXP is a very good choice as well, so if that works for you I suggest you just stick with it.

              What I used for burning iso's in XP was a free app called "ISO Recorder" that lets you right click on the file and choose "create ISO". Worked flawlessly!

              I knew about the two possibilities - "rest of us" and "best of us", and I posted what I did deliberately.

              Why does "rest of us" make more sense?

                Try the PackardBell Image writer, is a very simply software that burns your image (ISO) to a DVD or CD, is free. This is the link http://support.packardbell.com/es/item/index.php?m=download&i=7409370100;pbimgw11.exe;0;;

                I have it installed on my laptop and it works perfectly.
