COD4 - Will my cpu run it well?
    « on: April 24, 2008, 07:49:28 PM »
I just got this new cpu and wondering if COD4 will run smoothly on it.

    Specs: (off of dxdiag)

    ACER ASPIRE M5640
    OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2160 @1.8GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
    Memory: 2814MB RAM
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / NVIDIA nForce 630i
    Direct x10

Will this run cod4 well on my computer?

Also, why does it say theres 2 graphics cards?

      first thing to clear up...

THIS (click here) is a CPU.

and THIS (click here) is a computer.

it might run CoD4. if it does, it will have to be on its lowest graphics settings. your CPU is fairly slow, i recommend at least a 2.4GHz, and your video card is integrated which will kill your performance. i suggest a PCI-E video card.

      COD minimum and recommended specs:

      Quote
        Operating Systems:

        Recommended requirements:
CPU: 2.4 GHz Dual Core or better
RAM: 1GB for XP and 2GB for Vista
      HD: 8GB Free Space
GFX: 3.0 Shader Support, Nvidia Geforce 7800, ATI Radeon X1800 or better.

      Minimum requirements:
      CPU: Intel® Pentium® 4 2.4 GHz, AMD® Athlon™ 64 2800+ processor
or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better.
RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista)
      HD: 8GB Free SPace
      GFX: NVIDIA® Geforce™ 6600, ATI® Radeon® 9800Pro or better

And one thing, the 7100 Geforce card is a low end 7 series card and like homer said it's integrated graphics card so it's eating memory from your memory sticks to boost graphics memory and that is not good for gaming.

And I suppose that your CPU can probably run the game since it's a relatively modern CPU and it beats out the pentium 4 as stated in the min requirements but I don't know how smooth it'll be.

I would buy at least a geforce 8500gt if you want dx10 graphics card at very cheap and the geforce 8500, I my experience with it, can run games at highest graphical settings provided that you are ok with running the games at lowest resolution. The geforce 8500 is not the best card but is way better than the geforce 7100.

The 7100 is the graphics card, and the nforce 630i is your motherboard.

actually the 630i is the chipset, not the motherboard.
