How do I get rid of this Bad Image window?
« on: March 20, 2008, 12:39:48 PM »
Please could someone help me, every time I turn my computer on and the desktop picture comes up, this window comes up Explorer.EXE - Bad Image. I have to click on it like 15 times before it doesn't come up anymore. If all is loaded on the desktop and I want to play Solitaire or Hearts, the window will pop back up again and need to be closed. Please could someone tell me how to get rid of this?? Thanks

Dusty

Welcome to the CH forums.

You probably have the Explorer.exe virus (see here).  Please wait for one of the CH authorized malware removal personnel to respond or ask the mods to move your post to the Virus etc. forum.

Meantime ensure your anti-virus and firewall are up to date.

When posting please include details of your system especially the Operating System installed.  We can't be expected to guess on anything from Win.3 thru' Vista.

Edit:  It didn't take long for the cavalry (Broni) to arrive...

This is not a full message, you're getting.
It should be also saying something like:
The application or DLL C:\windows\system32\file_name is not a valid windows image....blah blah
What file name is mentioned?
