Author Topic: I click on icons and everything and it says Choose program to use to open file (Read 3155 times)

I am running Windows XP on a machine that is about 1 year old. The computer has been working fine, and today when I turned on my computer and the when I click on all icons or programs it says:
Open with:
Choose The program you want to use to open this file.
This is doing it for all programs including AIM, calculator, and all .exe or .txt or anything. its like it cant find the directory for all programs, please help.

Go Start>Run, type in:
cmd
Click OK.
Type in:
sfc /scannow
Hit Enter.
Have Windows CD handy.

it is even doing that for command. cmd
