Installing programs with windows vista home edition
    « on: April 07, 2008, 05:45:31 PM »
I have a Dell Computer with Windows Vista Home and i cannot install any software from a CD. I have signed in as administrator  and now have user control turned off. As soon as I put the CD in it shows up on the screen and when I hit install it turns off. I have tried numerous CD programs. I have tried from the run Box. Sometimes it says read as Administrator but this does not work. It seems like it is locked. Microsoft does not help.

Is it CD/DVD drive? Can you play music CDs, video DVDs?

Try to create new account: http://www.lockergnome.com/windows/2006/12/05/create-a-new-user-account-in-vista/, and see, if it'd work from there.
