System 32 problems
« on: August 22, 2008, 03:42:29 PM »
Hi
I am pretty sure that someone installed spyware on my computer and added norton 360 to my system. Norton was saying i was protected yet there was a page showing my router and computer which kept insisting i was not. I logged in and asked for remote help. I was taken to a different site by the rep at symantec; charged 99.00 and was told that the person would find whatever it was and guarantee its removal. I watched the person work remotely. There were a great deal of files of unknown origin which he unchecked the box next to; it appears as if originally the check meant these files had been deleted. He claims he found a system 32 bug and he copied it to my notepad. What is this? I have seen that spyware keystroking software is available and have reason to believe my jealous boyfriend had something installed on my system. I need to prove this.

Here is what the remote person copied to my notepad

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21769
IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-183

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21799

I would appreciate someone explaining what this is and what it does
thanks~

If you think this is malware related you need to post the logs found in the instructions here > http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,46313.0.html
